This is the archway onto the Bates campus, and behind the brick pillar is the Bates Quad, which is one of my favorite places in Lewiston. and the ribbon on the pillar was a momentous, um, an ode to the people who died in the Lewiston shooting about 2 years ago. Um, And that was a time when the Lewiston community really came together and made me feel as a student, like a part of the Lewison community. 

so this piece kind of encaptures one of my favorite places and a moment that Lewiston came together, um, and was really meaningful to me.
