After the tragedy two years ago, I had just gotten to campus and I had met my Auburn Middle School mentee, and I had also done a little bit of volunteering with the REC. And although there were a lot of kids that I cared about on campus, I was also thinking a lot about the kids that had just, became part of my life. And it wasn't until Halloween, when we had a lot of Lewiston youth back on campus, that I started to see some friendly faces and started to feel a little bit more secure about what had just happened. So I drew the yellow pass all over Pgill (Pettingill Hall) and near Commons to represent those tables that we set up to give out candy. And then I also drew puzzle pieces on the academic buildings to represent each piece of the puzzle that Bates teachers give us. And once we put them all together, that's the whole piece, which is us graduating.
